Does the video demonstrate genre characteristics? (e.g. stage performance in metal video, dance routine for boy/girl band)
- The video does demonstrate genre characterisitics. The group convey the "Rock" genre by rocking their head up and down and their body composition is quite frantic which also emphasises the genre.
- There isn't much of a relationship between the two as the video is set in a small concert - and much of their lyrics seem contradictory to their setting.
- There is a relationship wihin the type of music - the setting is appropriate for the type of music playing. The group didn't have to find numerous settings to convey their message - they do this perfectly in their "concert".
- This is definitely the case - there are lots of "Close-Up" shots, especially of those playing instruments. These shots are appropriate as it definitely convey's the image of the record label.
- Not particually - no. The camera shots are pretty straight forward and there are no voyeuristic treatment whatsoever as there are no females present - the group as a whole tends not to focus on such things.
- There is very little intertextual reference. The group did however reference the "Pleiades" which in astronomy, is an open star cluster containing middle-aged hot B-type stars located in the constellation of Taurus. It is among the nearest star clusters to Earth and is the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky.
