Our Preferred Choices

As a group, we had to choose from a list of songs to base our music video on. In the end, we narrowed our choices down to three which are the following:

Track 2. The Saturdays - Had it with today

This song was our first choice out of the ones available. The song would be an ideal choice, we believe as a group that we can incorproate "Goodwin's Theory" into a successful music video. We believe we can construct the video with links between the visuals, the song plus the artist. One group member has access to dancers - this would enhance our video by complimenting the lyrics and music and the message we're trying to articulate. A few of the locations we have in mind are the dance studio, a street and a carpark - these locations would essentially create a "party" scene which we believe the genre would fit perfectly into.

Track 8. Know how

Track 8 was our second choice which greatly contrasted our first choice. The song would work well by creating contrasting imagery. We believed this type of music fitted perfectly into the "indie" genre. With this song, we could create different scenarios and use vivid colours. We would have all members of the group participating which would be beneficial not only for the quantity of participants in our video, but also because we feel our video would specialise within the "Mise-En-Scene" aspect of the video. We have group members who we believe fit perfectly into the genre and we can come across costumes, props and locations that can easily and quickly reinforce our music video.

Track 11. JLS - PCD


Our last and final choice was track 11 - this song choice would be ideal as "JLS" are very contemporary and our audience could recognise them instantly. We believe we could easily amplify the lyrics of this track so that they relate to the visuals as "Goodwin's Theory" suggests they should - our male members of the group could replicate the members of "JLS" and we can get dancers in around them to compliment and put emphasis on the genre. We believe the genre of "Hip-Hop" would be an excellent choice as there are many aspects of the genre that we could easily incorprate within the time we have. The costumes would be very bright and would aim not to contrast their surroundings as we want to put emphasis on both the artist and the enviroment they're in.
